Chicago Bears Trade Brandon Marshall
- Updated: March 7, 2015

The Chicago Bears finally made a decision on Brandon Marshall; they traded him to the New York Jets for a fifth round draft pick. Brandon had a season full of drama in 2014. With this trade, the Bears free up 4 million in salary cap space. Marshall’s 7.5 million base salary would have been guaranteed on March 12th. According to sources, Brandon’s relationship with Jay Cutler had become strained during the 2014 season. There were also several episodes involving him that became distractions to everyone inside Halas Hall. “We need to make our own decisions and our own judgements”, general manager, Ryan Pace said when asked about Brandon Marshall at the NFL combine. Sources also indicated that those close to Brandon were preparing for a change. Trades can’t become official until the new league year begins, which will be Tuesday at 3 P.M. Brandon Marshall did a lot for the city of Chicago and he will be missed. Let’s hope the Chicago Bears made the right decision with this trade.
