Rex Ryan gets Inked up in Scottsdale Az.
- Updated: February 3, 2015

Kids, remember when your mother told you not to get that tattoo of that pretty women on your arm and you didn’t listen? Rex Ryan did not listen either.
We learned in 2013 that former Jets coach Rex Ryan had a tattoo of his wife, Michelle, wearing a Mark Sanchez #6 jersey. Since then, Mark moved on to another team and Ryan is now coaching another team, the Buffalo Bills.
But, the big winner in all this may be Bills punter Colton Schmidt, because your new head coach now has a tattoo of his wife wearing your No. 6 jersey.
Ryan made an appointment at Old Town Ink in Scottsdale to get the tattoo changed to Bills colors. On Thursday, he called a Scottsdale, Ariz., tattoo parlor called Old Town Ink, said Ben Verhoek, an artist there. Mr. Verhoek said Mr. Ryan explained his dilemma like this:
“It’s like a girl in a jersey and I wanted to change the colors of it.” Mr. Verhoek realized who the customer was only when the coach, clad in a Buffalo Bills tracksuit, and his wife showed up at the shop Friday afternoon. The artist looked at the tattoo and then at Mrs. Ryan.
“Is that supposed to be you?” he asked Ryan’s wife Michelle.
She said yes.
“I see the resemblance,” Mr. Verhoek said.
I’m actually surprised that it took Ryan this long to change the tattoo.
