GABRIEL HEADING TO ARSENAL
- Updated: January 28, 2015

Arsenal look set to complete the signing of Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal this week.
The centre-back was left out of the team for Saturday’s game with Levante, just hours after the Yellow Submarine had announced a deal had been agreed with the Gunners for the 24 year-old.
The deal is thought to be in the region of $14 million and includes Costa Rican international Joel Campbell heading to El Madrigal on loan until the end of the season.
Gabriel waved an emotional goodbye to Villarreal fans at the game on Saturday. His future manager, Arsene Wenger, said of him: ““He is 24 years old – a good size, good pace and he is a good defender. Of course he has played for only one year in Europe, perhaps there are some things to work on but the potential is there.”
It is expected that Gabriel should have no problems in obtaining a work permit.
